As an assistant at the University of applied Sciences Biel I was working at the Competence Center Electronic Commerce of the Computer Science Division. Main tasks were projects with business partners and applied research and developement in the field of mobile communications. Support of student projects and teaching of specialised lessons were minor but nevertheless important and interesting parts of my work.Projects:
Spirit of Bike (Mobile Communication / 2001 / Java, PHP): The Competence Center Electronic Commerce (CCEC) supported the Spirit Of Bike project with it's knowledge in internet and mobile communications technology. Receiving GPS-coordinates from the bike we were able to draw the route of the bike in real time. (Picture: Track of the Power Run from Zurich to Biel.)
Introduction to Java3D (Optional Course / 2001 / Java3D): This is a programming oriented introduction to the Java API extension Java 3D. Java 3D is a full featured 3D-programming API providing the user good performance with a relatively simple API. The course is based on SUN's Java 3D Tutorial. Additional documentation, many links and examples can be found on the course homepage. Notice that this is only a small introduction in an optional course; There is a more thorough course to Computer Graphics by C. Schwab.
E-Qualos (Networking / 2000 / Java Applet): Developement of a Java tool to monitor a messaging system. The collected data can be used to derive QoS indexes. Customer project during my time at the (CCEC), Biel.
