| | Check-In of the IST (Rover Scouts) at Zurich Airport. We booked about 500 return flights to London Heathrow.
| | Now what to do with this cancelled flight? How many Rovers are on this flight? Any other flights cancelled?
| | Finally the new flight is booked and we can kill some time on the public deck of the airport :-)
| | Meeting point of about 600 scouts at Zurich Main Station.
| | Finally! Heading to the 21st World Scout Jamboree! We rented a whole train from Zurich to Calais for our 927 scouts.
| | 20 Busses with 927 scouts on their way to the ferry.
| | Leaving Calais and heading to Dover. It seems that there are only scouts on the ship...
| | Flags are up since July 22nd the Swiss Headquarters on the Jamboree campsite.
| | Queueing for warm food in the staff restaurant... This got a lot better as the camp started as people had their shift times and did not turn up in the same instant any more.
| | And the other side of the queue....
| | The canadian moose has arrived!
| | Building a red-white barrier needed a lot of tools: two automatical screw-drivers, hammer, axe, saw, ...
| | Participants are arriving...
| | Yes, there were a lot... About 30'000 arrived within 36 hours.
| | Relaxing over a "Jass" in the headquarters.
| | Did we really need all this electronic fluff?
| | Photo-team, for once not in action.
| | Our quartermaster is trying to distribute all the stuff to the correct place.
| | The logistics team is relaxing in a pub in Chelmsford after all people have arrived and all the material is handed out.
| | Headquarter tents at night.
| | Activities in the "Elements" area. Floating a piece of wood though several watergates.
| | Of course I had to take a picture of the very competent Rover leading this activity :-)
| | Water rocket taking off - what a lucky snapshot :-)
| | Well, well... always clean your tray!
| | Thats also what these ladies say: Clean your tray!
| | Rovers hanging out in the adult area after work.
| | Our charming photo team.
| | Neighbours in life and in the headquarters: Liechtenstein!
| | Now that fits really well in an English Jamboree - drums and pipes.
| | The garden behind Hylands House was created as memorial for the 21st World Scout Jamboree.
| | The typical waste produced by one adult meal was criticized. As the plastic forks kept breaking I digged out my real cuttlery.
| | Well, that's a nice piece of pioneering! Eiffel tower in wood.
| | Ready for the Swiss national day celebration!
| | 1st of August, Sunrise day and peak of the centenary festivities of the scout movement. And it really started with a brilliant sunrise!
| | 40'000 scouts are watching als the 158 flaygs of all the scouting countries in the world turin into the viollet scout flag of WOSM.
| | Follow the leader, follow the leader leader... :-)
| | Writtle, the cosy village next to the camp. It also has (at least) two nice pubs :-)
| | A polnish troop with another excellent piece of pioneering work!
| | Visit from home! Leon with the Swiss Scouts shirt :-)
| | The visitors in front of Hylands House, all adequately dressed :-)
